Printable Funeral Programs

Now that you've finished creating a funeral service program for a recently departed loved one, you are ready to print the program. Of course, using funeral program templates are the quickest and easiest way to go when under the tight time constraints of funeral planning.

I wanted to list some cost saving ideas for printing your memorial service programs, funeral service programs, obituary programs, or funeral programs. All one in same, just people may refer to them by a variety of different names. There are some websites who claim funeral template designs with a front, back and inside design may cause you to use more ink if you are printing from your home printer. The fact is that there are several options and alternatives that you can do if you are budget conscious or need to trim printing costs that can save you money.

You can remove the back page background image altogether and just use the beautiful background image for the front cover. By selecting the background design on the back of the program, you can simply hit delete on your keyboard to remove it. It is very simple to remove and then you can save the back image for another time.

When you are able to print the back design, at least you have it to use when costs may not be as much of a factor. The versatility of these types of templates is that you can use as much color or as little color as you'd like. You are not limited to only printing the entire design. But when you purchase a template with only a cover and no back or inside design, you are very much limited because if you want to embellish it by adding more designs to it, you will need to get your creative hat on and produce the design yourself. For most, this is not a feasible option. If your going to purchase a template, make sure you find one that provides the complete presentation or you will have to do more work to it later on.

When you remove the back page. you can create just a simple rectangular border around the existing text box. Then you can print the entire or partial funeral program in black and white for more cost savings.

If you take your funeral program to an office supply store for printing, you will be charged a printing fee per page. Since you are already paying for the page to be printed regardless of whether or not you print or use the back page design, why not get your money's worth? It may appear like you would use a lot of ink when printing a funeral program that contains both the front and back pages, but in actuality, it isn't that much more. The print heads on home printers are designed to move from left to right on the paper and it will use just as much ink if you are printing a front cover with many colors as it would to print the back page which is generally translucent.

You can also set your color printer to DRAFT mode. The print heads do not press as deeply in draft mode as it would in the enhanced mode. This will save much ink and you can still have a full color front and back cover design. Often draft modes can print very nicely depending on the type of printer you own.

In closing, I would recommend that you don't settle for anything less! Remember this funeral program is a special keepsake and will be a cherished item for many people who attended the service. Make it a great one!
