Some Good Things To Consider

In planning a wedding, it can no doubt be a stressful time for not only you but your family members and friends. When it comes to planning a wedding, it would be a good idea to hire a florist. Some people think that they would save some money off their budget if they opt to do the flowers themselves. Although this may be true, it can add a tremendous amount of work to your already full list of things to do in planning for the big event.

When hiring a florist, you will be paying for not only the flowers but also the time that it will be taking for the florist to complete your order. This will include any decorations that you would like to add or ribbons you find.

Once you have all of the pieces of decorations and flowers, the florist will than put together everything to make the bouquet as you see fit. Depending on what flowers you choose, for example orchards will be more expensive because they are more exotic compared to carnations. Finding a good florist may be a difficult task. There are also a few things to keep in mind when searching for the perfect florist for your wedding. It would be a good idea to ask if there will be a cost for a change order just in case you decide to change your mind about a certain flower.

Be sure to ask if they have a portfolio available for you to see or even call some of their references. Ask how long they have been in business and how many weddings they generally do in a week during the month of your planned wedding. It would also be a good idea to check to see how long it takes them as well. There will be a number of questions the florist will ask you to gain information beforehand. They will need to know the number of people in the wedding party, theme colors, ect. Keep in mind that a florist may try to up sell you.

To make sure this does not happen, be honest when it comes to your budget but don’t try to negotiate. If you see something you happen to like but do not like the price make your opinion known because this might lead to the florist modifying the price. You should not be surprised if the florist only gives you an estimate on the price. The reasons for this is that the costs of flowers change daily. They also don’t want you to be taking their price and looking around. Be sure not to choose a florist on price alone because you will get what you pay for in the long run. Free lance or home based florists can be another option for you as well instead of a retail store. They may even have more experience than the stores.

Before hiring a florist, make sure you take a look at their work and see actual pictures so you will be looking at the art of what they did as opposed to what they can do. While every place is different, the overall cost of everything will depend on where you are living, the kind of flower you decide, and how much they charge. It may be best to make a list of potential florists you find and call the wedding designer first.
