Gatefold Programs

The gatefold has been around for a long time. It is mostly used in weddings to create beautiful wedding programs. But this unique program presentation is now not only being used for weddings but also being used for funeral programs.

The gatefold received its name by the way the fold opens the program. The front opens out like a gate, hence the name. These programs can be difficult or time consuming to create from scratch. Well thank goodness for templates that were created to help those who are creatively handicapped produce professional programs such as these shown above.

The gatefold programs are create in a legal size paper layout and formatted with six sides. The center yields the widest area for text and photos with the two side panels offering a more narrower area for text. Because its formatted in a legal size 8.5 x 14 dimension, there is still plenty of room for text and photos.

It is similar to a tri fold brochure but the panels are not equal as in the trifold brochure. The gatefold does not provide an even panel for all six sides as in the trifold. It is still sufficient for creating a very nice program with ample space.

Gatefold templates will provide a traditional service outline within its contents as a general guide for the program creator. It's good to use as a guideline since you can easily change up the text information and photos to customize your own service.

Folding the gatefold is easy. Its just a matter of printing the template program on the front and back. If you don't have a printer that prints front and back at the same time, then you will need to flip the paper over in order to print the other side of the program. Once your program is printed on both sides, simple fold the front side panels in towards the center.

You can choose to print as many as you like, which is one of the best things about using a template. You will have full control over the printing and can use the template as many times as you wish.
