Funeral Poetry for Dad

The death of a father, no matter how devastating it is, should not mean the end of the world for you and the rest of the family. While it is not wrong to grieve and be distressed over your loss, the death of a father allows you to honor and glorify him in front of all his close friends and the family as well. How?

Well, you can write your dad funeral poems and incorporate them in the eulogy. Aside from you, the poems you will be writing can be read by your mother, your sibling and other close family friends. Poems generally have a soothing effect on people and reading them during the memorial service if a great way to appease the uplift the spirits of those who are mourning, you included.

What should you keep in mind when writing your dad funeral poems? First off, decide on the tone you want your poems to carry. Since the occasion is already sad, it wouldn’t be a good idea to write poems that reflect your sorrow. Instead, dwell on the positive. What do we mean by this? Think about your father while writing the poems. Focus on his character and how it was to have him as your father.

Also, when writing your dad funeral poems, don’t worry too much about the technical side of your poems. Let your heart move your hands to do the writing. Let your emotions flow when writing your dad funeral poems.

When writing your dad funeral poems, your purpose is to share the kind of man he was to others. Reading the poems you wrote for your father is a display of how much you love him and how much you value him. You’re doing it to honor his memory.
