How to Create a Funeral Program Layout

The layout of a funeral memorial program varies greatly depending on how extensive the service is going to be. By following closely to some general guidelines on the how produce a funeral program layout, you can easily make a program that is attractive and memorable. The funeral program is an important piece to the service since serves as a guide and keepsake.

Church services such as the Catholic or Baptist denominations and/or other religious affiliations have some very specific rituals for the funeral service. Note the following basic information that is required for any funeral program layout:

Your loved one's full and complete name, birthdate including the month, day and year, and date of death, a recent or earlier photograph of the deceased to insert on the front cover of the funeral program. Layout the front cover so that a nice landscape design serves as a backdrop and your loved one's photo is placed in front of it. Some also, place the location of the funeral service, address, date of memorial service and officiant's name. Some note the date of brith as a "sunrise" and the date of death as a "sunset."

Hymn or other special song lyrics, words to poetry or a special written work prepared by a close friend or the deceased, and prayers are all appropriate items to include within the layout of the funeral program.

A note of gratitude by the bereaved family members are typically included in the inside page as well as an invitation to an after service gathering and its location. Some also choose to add more photos like a montage of the deceased and the special people who were apart of their life.
